The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 7) in regions across the country.
Due to the influence of increased cold air, from the night of May 7, the Northeast region will turn cool, then cold air will continue to affect the North Central region and some places in the Northwest region. Wind turns Northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.
From the evening of May 7 to the morning of May 8, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, common rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 100mm. In thunderstorms, it is necessary to prevent tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The area from Ha Tinh to Hue City from the evening of May 7 to May 8 will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.
In the Mekong Delta region, in the late afternoon and evening of May 7, scattered showers and thunderstorms appeared, with heavy rain in some places over 50mm.
Especially in Hanoi, from the evening of May 7 to the morning of May 8, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. From the night of May 7, the weather will turn cool.
At sea, from near dawn on May 8th, the area of the Northern Gulf of Tonkin will have strong Northeast winds at level 4-5, gusts at level 6, sea waves from 1-2m high, rough seas. From late afternoon and night on May 8th, the northeast sea area of the Northern East Sea will have strong Northeast winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8, sea waves from 2-3m high, strong rough seas.
In the next 6 hours, some areas in Lam Dong such as Bao Thuan, Cat Tien, Da Teh, Duc Linh, Tanh Linh, La Da, Gia Hiep and Ward 3 Bao Loc are at risk of flash floods, landslides and subsidence due to heavy rain.
The meteorological agency warns of a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas in many localities.
People and tourists need to proactively prevent storms and tornadoes, reinforce houses, protect crops and livestock, and limit movement through deep flooded areas or areas at risk of landslides.
