The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 7) in regions across the country.
In the next 6 hours, the area of Lam Dong province is warned of a high risk of flash floods, landslides and subsidence in steep slopes and small streams, especially in areas such as Bao Thuan, Cat Tien, Da Teh, Duc Linh, Dam Rong, Bao Loc and surrounding areas.
On the night of May 7, a cold air mass will affect the Northeast region, then spread to the North Central region and some places in the Northwest region.
Wind turns to Northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4. From the night of May 7, the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa will turn cool, the lowest temperature is commonly from 21-24 degrees, mountainous areas in some places below 21 degrees.
In Hanoi, from the evening of May 7 to May 8, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. From the night of May 7, the weather will turn cool with the lowest temperature commonly from 22-24 degrees.
Notably, from the afternoon of May 7 to May 8, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate rain, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 100mm. The area from Ha Tinh to Hue will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, rainfall from 10-30mm, in some places over 70mm.
In thunderstorms, there is a high risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. These extreme weather phenomena can cause damage to agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses and infrastructure.
At the same time, localized heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying areas. People and tourists need to closely monitor forecast bulletins and proactively prevent natural disasters to minimize damage.
