Quoc Toan (24 years old) and friends from Hanoi came to Mu Cang Chai to celebrate the New Year holiday and at the same time hunt for the dai dai flower season that is blooming brightly pink all over the roads. Having a passion for tourism and although he has been to Mu Cang Chai many times in different seasons, this is the first time Toan has admired the dai dai flower season in the Northwest highlands so beautifully.
Below is a sharing of Toan's two-day Mu Cang Chai tour itinerary:
Move
Booking a sleeper cabin car like Cuong Lan's car will cost 500,000 VND/pair/person, for two people it costs 600,000 VND/pair.
Arriving in Mu Cang Chai, rent a motorbike at a homestay to go to various places, basically the roads are all concrete, the slopes are suitable for motorbikes.
Residence
According to Toan, staying in the center of Mu Cang Chai is more convenient to go to places with flowers, because it is located between La Pan Tan and Hang Gang. The center also has many beautiful blooming flower spots, many homestays and eateries for tourists to choose from.
Toan chooses Cuong Tu homestay right at the beginning of Thai village, eating and drinking all meals at homestay right away, motorbikes are also rented by homestay owners, reasonable prices.
Mu Cang Chai flower season sightseeing itinerary
Day 1:
In the morning, when you arrive in Mu Cang Chai at 7 am, you have breakfast, book a room at a homestay and pack your things, then move to Mong Ngua area 1km from the center. Here, there is a thick flower tree that has bloomed very beautifully. Entrance ticket is 10,000 VND/person.
Then move to Hang Gang, 17km from the center, going up from the direction of Kim Noi. This is Toan's favorite and most beautiful location currently in Mu Cang Chai. Flowers have not fully bloomed but are very uniform and abundant, with a whole road planted with heavy flower blossoms. Especially in Hang Gang, it is not too crowded like other heavy flower blossom locations, the space is spacious with many shooting angles. The entrance ticket is 35,000 VND/person.
At noon, I returned to the homestay to eat lunch and then rest.
In the afternoon, go to 2 points in the same direction: Garrya Mu Cang Chai resort and La Pan Tan commune. Tickets to visit and take photos at the resort are 500,000 VND/person, but this area is very crowded.
Toan suggested going to Trong Tong village, La Pan Tan commune, about 22km from the center of Mu Cang Chai.
Tourists can visit Trong Tong in the afternoon and can admire dai dai flowers combined with a beautiful sunset. Ticket price for guests is about 50,000 VND/person.
Day 2:
In the morning, Toan and his group of friends went to My Hang, Mo De commune, about 4km from the center of Mu Cang Chai. Eucommia flowers here bloom early from the end of December, so they can wither quickly.
In the afternoon, you can return to the center of Mu Cang Chai to take a walk. Toan revealed that along the road next to the river at the entrance to Thai village, there are two rows of thick flowers blooming very bustling and beautifully.
At 5 pm, get on a passenger car back to Hanoi, the trip lasts about 5-6 hours.
Notes
The road to places like Hang Gang, Mong Ngua is quite steep, you should check the motorbike carefully before renting. If the motorbike is too weak, two people cannot go up a high slope. If the female driver is weak, you should hire a local motorbike taxi, at the foot of the slope, almost all attractions have motorbike taxis.
January every year is usually the peak season for Mu Cang Chai tourism to see dai dai flowers, you should book bus tickets carefully, ensure beds to travel 5-6 hours/day, avoid overloading.
To book a room, you can refer to both Nga ba Kim area and Mu Cang Chai center. Going out on weekends, you need to book a room and contact in advance to avoid room runs out.
You should bring cash and small change for pocket money and pay for tickets to tourist destinations.
Plan as soon as possible, the flower season in Mu Cang Chai is at its best, the flowers will gradually wither in the next week.
