Hai Phong - Not noisy or bustling, Thien Van Hill brings a green, airy and poetic space in the heart of the city.

Thien Van Hill is not only associated with the history of Hai Phong Hydrometeorological Station but also has become a familiar sightseeing spot for people and tourists when visiting Hai Phong.

Located in Kien An Ward - Hai Phong, Thien Van Hill is considered one of the rare natural hills that still retains its peacefulness amidst a rapidly developing city. From the foot of the hill, the small winding road leading to the top of the hill creates a feeling of stepping into a space separated from the outside noise.

From the top of the hill, looking far away, one can see a part of Kien An's landscape with residential areas, roads and low mountain ranges in the distance. On beautiful weather days, the scenery here becomes particularly impressive when the sunset light covers the entire area in a gentle yellow color.

According to local people, the name "Thien Van" is associated with the presence of the Hai Phong Hydrometeorological Station on the hilltop. This project was built during the French colonial period to serve weather observation, meteorological research and monitoring of natural phenomena. Over the years, this place has maintained professional activities and has become a special milestone in the urban life of the area.

Not only valuable in history and science, Thien Van Hill is also known as a "green lung" of the Kien An area and Hai Phong city. The long-standing trees covering the walkways, the sound of birds singing interspersed with a gentle breeze create a rare fresh air in the heart of the city. Every early morning or late afternoon, many people come here to exercise, walk or simply enjoy the quiet space.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (50 years old, living in Kien An) said that he has maintained the habit of walking up the hill for nearly 5 years.

“Every day I come here to walk for about 30 - 40 minutes. The air on the hill is very fresh, with many green trees, so it feels more comfortable than exercising on the street. Looking down from above at the city is also very beautiful, especially in the afternoon,” Mr. Hung shared.

Thien Van Hill is also a familiar destination for many young people. Nguyen Thu Trang (21 years old), a student at Hai Phong University, said that she often comes here with friends on weekends.

I like the space here because it is quite quiet, with many green trees and you can admire the panoramic view of the city. Occasionally, we come here to stroll, take photos or sit and watch the sunset" - Trang said.

In recent years, Thien Van Hill has gradually become a place that many young people come to take photos, picnics or explore nature, the rustic and close appearance is the factor that keeps this place unique.

The front yard of Hai Phong Hydrometeorological Station on the hilltop is also a place where people often gather, chat and participate in community activities.

Amidst the vibrant pace of life of the Port city, Thien Van Hill still quietly exists as a green quiet space - where people can temporarily leave the hustle and bustle of the city to find a sense of peace again. With its value in landscape, history and environment, this location is expected to continue to be preserved and promoted, becoming a special highlight in the urban picture of Hai Phong.
