The Happy Tet 2026 program with the theme "Tet is happiness" takes place from now until February 10, 2026 (December 23rd of the year At Ty) at the Central Area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel (No. 19C Hoang Dieu Street, Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi City).
Happy Tet is an annual media, promotion and tourism promotion event of Hanoi City, held since 2022. Through the seasons of organization, the program has left many good impressions in the hearts of Hanoi people as well as domestic and international tourists, gradually becoming one of the typical cultural and tourism activities every Tet and spring.
Within the framework of the program, a tourist attraction is the display and cultural introduction area of Thai Hai Community Tourism Village (Thai Nguyen), which recreates the life of people in the Central Highlands region. Specialties are displayed and introduced to domestic and international tourists.
International tourists are not only excited about the house that recreates people's lives but also excitedly experience a game called "ném còn".
For the Muong, Tay, H'mong, Thai ethnic groups... throwing con is the most attractive religious game of boys and girls during the spring festival. Throwing con is using con balls to throw into a high circle for people standing on the other side to catch and then throw back through the circle. Con balls are sphere-shaped, as big as a small child's fist, sewn with many colored fabric segments, inside stuffed with rice and cotton seeds (rice feeds people, cotton gives yarn for weaving).
The con throwing yard is a large yard, in the middle buried a tall bamboo tree (or vầu), at the top there is a round con ring, one side is covered with red paper (symbolizing the sun), the other side is covered with yellow paper (symbolizing the moon). The covered paper symbolizes the virginity of the girl. Players stand facing each other through the con tree, throwing the con ball through the con ring at the top of the pillar is the winner.
Not only that, the Happy Tet 2026 space also fully recreates the simple and familiar things of the traditional Tet holiday - from the image of red-hot banh chung pots gathering around the kitchen, the warm smell of smoke spreading, to the streets filled with colorful flowers. Each small corner evokes old Tet memories, where the pace of life slows down, people find peace, reunion and the eagerness to welcome a new year full and warm.
The streets of the Capital in the spring days are recreated at the event, with a brilliant appearance with flags, flowers, peach blossoms, and apricot blossoms blooming. In that space, Hanoi appears both familiar, peaceful, and full of the vitality of a new spring.
Happy Tet 2026 is expected to welcome tens of thousands of people and tourists to visit, experience the traditional Tet space, shop for typical products and learn about Binh Ngo spring tours. Not only is it a cultural rendezvous, the event also brings tourists the opportunity to directly immerse themselves in the Tet rhythm of life, feel the atmosphere of reunion, peace and the unique values preserved through each activity and experience.
