An Giang - The 2nd Expanded "Precisive Landing" Paragliding Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City takes place in Phung Hoang Son, expected to be an interesting festival on the "legendary region" of Tri Ton.

Day of the sky is brilliant

On the morning of March 21, in the Phung Hoang Son area, which is Co To mountain, also known as To mountain, the Ho Chi Minh City Paragliding and Kite Flying Sports Federation in coordination with Tri Ton commune, An Giang province, opened the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Expanded "Precisive Landing" Paragliding Tournament.

This tournament gathers many experienced pilots from clubs across the country. The special point of the "accurate landing" content lies in the extremely high technical requirements.

From the top of the mountain, pilots must control the parachute to overcome complex winds to land right at the center of a target with a diameter of only 16cm. Each landing is not only a skill performance but also a brain battle between spatial feeling, speed and situation handling ability.

That "breathtaking" element creates a unique attraction for the tournament. Viewers not only admire the brilliant parachutes circling in the blue sky, but also anxiously watch each accurate landing to every centimeter.

In the context of the flat terrain of the Mekong Delta, the appearance of flight points such as Phung Hoang Son - where mountains and plains converge - further increases the value of the experience.

Not stopping at the sporting element, the tournament also contributes to promoting the image of Bay Nui region - an area that is being oriented to develop ecotourism, experience and extreme sports. Overhead views open up a panoramic view of fields, villages and overlapping mountains, bringing a new feeling to both pilots and tourists.

Amidst the peak of the dry season, when many tourism products are affected by the hot sun, a "new breeze" is blowing into the Seven Mountains region. Because this is not only a sports playground, but also an opportunity for everyone to experience a corner of the sky in the Seven Mountains region filled with the colors of flying kites.

Exciting supporting activities

According to Mr. Lam Thanh Si, Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tri Ton commune, besides the competition contents, the Organizing Committee also built a series of sideline activities to turn the event into a real festival.

At the opening ceremony on the morning of March 21, it opened with a cultural program, art performances imbued with Khmer indigenous culture and paragliding performances, creating a lively atmosphere from the beginning.

During the 2 days of the event (March 21-22), there are also sports exchange activities, Yoga performances and the participation of many clubs that have contributed to diversifying the experience for participants. This is not only a playground for pilots but also an opportunity for the sports and tourism community to meet and connect. A special highlight lies in the motor paragliding performance program combined with low-altitude fireworks display taking place on the evening of March 21 at Thai Quoc Hung Square.

Images of glowing parachutes flying in the night sky, harmonizing with the colors of fireworks at an altitude of about 150m, are expected to create a unique "visual feast" in the heart of An Giang.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also creates conditions and coordinates with restaurants and tourist attractions to increase capacity to serve famous dishes of Tri Ton land, such as; smoked chicken, palmyra palm water, cà tum cake...

In the context that tourism in the Mekong Delta is in need of new products to adapt to the harsh dry season weather conditions, the model of combining sports - events - experiences such as the paragliding race at Tri Ton is considered a potential direction. Not only attracting tourists to visit, the event also contributes to stimulating accommodation services, cuisine and local trade.

With methodical investment and an approach towards "festival days", this paragliding tournament is not only limited to a competition but also opens up opportunities for the Bay Nui region to position itself on the experiential tourism map. As paragliders continue to paint colors in the sky, Tri Ton is gradually turning natural advantages into sustainable economic and tourism values.
