Located separately from the noise of the city, Cai Bau Pagoda (also known as Truc Lam Giac Tam Zen Monastery) is located in the heart of Van Don special zone, Quang Ninh province. Thanks to its "mountain leaning towards the sea" by Bai Tu Long Bay and its peaceful space, this pagoda attracts tens of thousands of tourists and Buddhists from all directions to worship each year. Not only is it a place to worship Buddhism, Cai Bau Pagoda is also a place to worship the generals of the Tran Dynasty - those who made great contributions in the war against the Mongol invaders in the 13th century. Photo: Linh Boo

Ms. Nguyen Oanh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared that although located far from the center, Cai Bau Pagoda possesses a high location and beautiful views. According to her, this is not only a spiritual and peaceful place but also an ideal tourist destination thanks to the harmony between architecture and nature. "From the pagoda yard, you can take a panoramic view of the beauty of countless rocky islands on Bai Tu Long Bay. ", Ms. Oanh said. Photo: Linh Boo

On a campus of 20 hectares, the pagoda complex is harmoniously arranged in traditional architectural style with the main items: Tam Quan Gate, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, monastery, ancestral house and guest house. The most prominent is the two-story main hall with an area of more than 6,000 m2. In which, the upper floor worships Buddha Shakyamuni, the lower floor is where Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra statues are placed. Photo: Linh Boo

A special thing that helps Cai Bau Pagoda win the hearts of tourists is its absolute purity. Here, the management board strictly prohibits burning votive paper, there is no phenomenon of soliciting, exchanging small change or bustling and crowded eateries. Photo: Linh Boo

Impressed with the pagoda space, Ms. Van Nguyen (Hanoi tourist) commented: "From the stone steps to the curved tiled roof at the pagoda, there is a strong mark of Truc Lam. Standing in the pagoda yard looking out at the vast blue sea, my heart suddenly feels light and strangely tolerant. The big plus is that the pagoda grounds are very spacious, clean and have many parking spaces. Photo: Linh Boo

Because the Zen monastery campus is very large, steep and has many stone steps, visitors should prepare soft shoes and sandals, convenient for walking, so that the pilgrimage journey is most complete. Photo: Linh Boo

About 220 km from the center of Hanoi capital, the journey to Van Don is now very convenient thanks to the synchronous expressway system. Tourists can choose to travel by private car, limousine bus or motorbike. From Cai Bau Pagoda, tourists can combine exploring other scenic spots of Quang Ninh province. Photo: Linh Boo
