Da Nang has long left an impression on tourists with the image of a beautiful, modern and vibrant coastal city. However, deep in the heart of this young city are still the hidden cultural and historical values.
A clear example of that is the Cham Da Nang Sculpture Museum. Here, the artifacts of the Cham Pa Kingdom that once silently told the story of a brilliant civilization that once ruled this land.

The Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum, also known as the Cham ancient temple, is located peacefully on the busy 2.9 road (Hai Chau, Da Nang), right at the intersection between 2.9 road and Trung Nu Vuong road, opposite the Vietnam Television Center. This work impresses with its unique architecture, a delicate blend of European Gothic style and the characteristics of ancient Cham Pa.

The museum has a total area of 6,673m2, of which 2,000m2 is for display. Established in 1915, the museum officially opened in 1919 under French colonial rule.
This is a place to preserve and display valuable Cham Pa sculptures, found in all relics stretching from Quang Binh to Binh Thuan and even the lands in the Central Highlands.



Coming to the museum, visitors feel like they are lost in a miniature Cham Pa cultural space. Nearly 500 ancient sculptures made of sandstone, terracotta and bronze, dating from the 7th to the 15th centuries, are scientifically displayed in each geographical area where they were excavated: My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Thap Mem and the cultural corridors of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh... Each work is a witness of time, a mark of the unique cultural, religious and artistic life of the ancient Cham people.

Among the hundreds of artifacts, it is impossible not to mention the 9 national antiques that are being collected and displayed here, including: Tra Kieu Temple; My Son E1 Temple; Bo Tam Tam statue; Dong Duong Temple; ganesha statue; Gajasimha statue; Apsara statue; Shiva statue, Brahma Nhat statue.



Cham Museum is not only a place to preserve ancient artifacts but also an important center for research on Cham Pa culture. The museum attracts the attention of scientists and researchers at home and abroad to learn about the history, language, religion and art of this mysterious ancient kingdom.

When visiting the museum, visitors should be careful not to touch artifacts, do not climb, sit on the podium displaying artifacts and keep public hygiene in the museum grounds. The entrance fee is 60,000 VND/person/trip, open from 7am to 5pm every day.
