On January 24 and 25, the People's Committee of Sop Cop commune organized a Fair with the theme "Spring colors of the highlands" in the area at the foot of Muong Va ancient tower, Muong Va village.

The fair has more than 20 booths displaying and introducing local specialties such as sticky rice, Muong Va oranges, braised meat, forest honey, Lao brocade and ethnic cuisine.
The activity attracted thousands of people and tourists to visit and shop.

The fair atmosphere became more vibrant with a highland fair art program with special performances imbued with the cultural identity of the Lao, Thai, and Kho Mu ethnic groups.
Many folk games such as blindfolded duck catching, stick pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting are organized, creating a joyful exchange space between villages and ethnic groups in Sop Cop commune.

For the first time visiting Muong Va ancient tower, experiencing the border market, Ms. Le Thanh Nhan (Mai Son commune) clearly recognized the culture, agricultural products, and cuisine of the Lao ethnic people and other ethnic groups; especially the sincerity, hospitality and friendliness of the people in the village and commune.

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sop Cop commune, said that the market is a place for trade and cultural exchange of ethnic groups in the area and neighboring areas.
In the coming time, the locality will maintain the fair once a month, contributing to the development of trade and attracting tourism in the border region," Mr. Manh said.

The fair will gradually become a familiar rendezvous, keeping the rhythm of cultural activities and the breath of life of ethnic groups in the highland border area of Sop Cop.
