Cao Lanh Ward (Dong Thap province) has a famous address that anyone who comes wants to visit. That is the relic site of the Tomb of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac - a work commemorating the patriotic Confucian scholar and father of President Ho Chi Minh.
The Nguyen Sinh Sac Tomb relic site is a unique architectural and cultural complex, ranked as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 9, 1992.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the relic site was started construction in August 1975 and inaugurated in December 1977.
After many investments, the relic site currently has 4 sub-areas: Tomb area, temple, exhibition house of the life and career of Mr. Pho Bang; Ho Chi Minh stilt house area and fish pond garden; Exhibition house of President Ho Chi Minh's life and career; Cultural space of old Hoa An village and area for organizing folk games and entertainment, with a total area of nearly 9ha.
The Tomb of Mr. Pho Bang is facing east, with a stylized lotus wing shaped roof resembling the shape of a palm spreading down; on the roof is an embossed statue of nine dragons, symbolizing the provinces of the Mekong Delta that always shelter and protect the tomb of patriotic soldiers. On the tomb, there is a gravel peak made of Ngu Hanh Son stone, with fragrant incense smoke day and night.
The mausoleum grounds have many kinds of ornamental plants and rare fruits brought back by people from all over the country to plant as souvenirs. Especially worth mentioning is the nearly 300-year-old star fruit tree located on the left of the tomb and the 300-year-old sộp tree located on the right.
In front of the tomb is a 5-pointed star-shaped lotus pond, in the middle stands a stylized white lotus pedestal nearly 7m high, symbolizing the pure and innocent life of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac, and it is also a symbol of Dong Thap homeland.
Leaving Mr. Nguyen's tomb, the memorial house displays many artifacts and documents related to his life and career, especially his time in Cao Lanh, the Southern region, and the Ho Chi Minh stilt house was restored to its original model like Uncle Ho's stilt house right in the Presidential Palace Relic Site in Hanoi.
Here, people can also feel and imagine Uncle Ho's simple life, his working corner, Uncle Ho's resting place after work hours...
Every year, on the 27th day of the 10th lunar month, people from neighboring areas gather here to attend the death anniversary of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac in a solemn atmosphere, imbued with national identity, expressing the tradition of "When drinking water, remember the source".
Dong Thap province has decided to raise the death anniversary of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac every year to a provincial-level festival.
On December 16, 2025, the province held a ceremony to receive the ranking certificate of the National Special Relic Grave of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac.
