According to a report on January 5 by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province, during the 4-day New Year holiday (January 1, 2026), Dong Thap province welcomed and served 1.418 million tourists, including 15,800 international visitors. Thereby raising total tourism revenue to 716 billion VND.
On January 1st alone, it welcomed about 283,800 visitors, 6.7 times more than the same period. Including more than 3,800 international visitors, an increase of 35.8% compared to the same period; total revenue reached 143 billion VND, 9 times more than the same period. Average room occupancy rate reached 75% - 80%. In which, the number of tourists concentrated at some famous tourist destinations such as: Sa Dec, Cao Lanh, Thoi Son, Go Thap, Xeo Quyt...
In Sa Dec, with the 2nd Flower and Ornamental Festival event organizing more than 30 unique cultural, artistic and tourist activities, such as: Sa Dec Flower Color Space; Display space of 1,000 flower and ornamental plant varieties; Ancient Sa Dec Space; "Heritage Land" Space and especially the Wind Bridge Festival at Sa Dec Square, attracted 590,000 visitors to visit and admire. In Cao Lanh, just at the National Special Relic Site Nguyen Sinh Sac, it attracted more than 6,800 visitors.
Meanwhile, at the special national relic Go Thap Relic Area, coinciding with the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Recognition Ceremony and the 159th Anniversary of Thien Ho Duong and Doc Binh Kieu, it welcomed 740,000 visitors to experience traditional cultural values.
In Thoi Son, with ecotourism and community tourism products such as visiting gardens, experiencing rivers and waters, rowing boats on small canals, listening to "don ca tai tu" music, visiting traditional handicraft production facilities and enjoying local cuisine... it has welcomed more than 17,300 visitors, including more than 8,500 international visitors.
