On the morning of December 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province coordinated with the Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research of Ho Chi Minh City to organize a ceremony to announce and put into operation the Nhi Hoa community tourism model, in Nhi Hoa hamlet, Nhi Long commune. This is a rural tourism model built based on the indigenous lifestyle of local people.
The welcoming space at Nhi Hoa is created from familiar materials of the riverine countryside. The village gate is made of 20-30-year-old coconut trunks, rustic garden houses, slow and peaceful lifestyles create a feeling of closeness and originality for visitors from the first experiences.
Participating in the model, tourists not only visit but also directly integrate into the daily life of the people such as gardening, picking eggs, playing folk games, experiencing the river and water space and unique ecosystem with areca, coconut, and grapefruit gardens.

After a period of preparation, the Nhi Hoa community tourism model has formed a chain of products based on the community, effectively exploiting available resources such as traditional crafts, garden houses, folk culinary spaces, homestay accommodations, cultural experience spaces and village memories.
The model is organized according to a closed tourism service supply chain, associated with each rural household. Nhi Hoa community tourism product is expected to contribute to diversifying tourism products of Vinh Long province, forming new routes and attractions, and at the same time awakening the potential of community-based agricultural tourism, aiming to create sustainable livelihoods and promote the local image in the new development phase.
