Within the framework of the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival in 2026, on June 19, in Cao Lanh ward, the opening ceremony of the art balloon performance program and the Ao Dai Lotus parade with the theme "Dong Thap! Lotus fragrance spreads" took place, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee Bui Quoc Nam said that after the success of the opening night of the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival, the art balloon performance and Ao Dai Lotus parade program continues to contribute to enriching the festival's series of activities, and at the same time promote the image of Cao Lanh - Dong Thap homeland to friends and tourists at home and abroad.
According to local leaders, Cao Lanh always identifies culture as the spiritual foundation, and tourism as an important driving force to promote the local image, promote socio-economic development and improve people's lives. Therefore, the program is organized to connect traditional cultural values with the aspiration for development in the new era.
The highlight of the event is 34 artistic hot air balloons with many brilliant colors and 4 motorized paragliders performing in the sky of Cao Lanh, symbolizing the aspiration to rise up, the spirit of innovation, creativity and integration of Dong Thap.
In addition, the Ao Dai Lotus Parade program with the message "Lotus Fragrance - Vietnamese Figure" honors Vietnamese Ao Dai, and at the same time spreads the pure beauty of lotus flowers - a typical cultural symbol of Dong Thap. More than 2,000 women in Ao Dai costumes inspired by lotus flowers participated in the parade on the streets, creating a colorful festival space.
The program also features a performance by the Children's Brass band (Marching Band) of Vo Thanh Trang Secondary School, contributing to creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphere, attracting a large number of people and tourists.
According to the Organizing Committee, through the series of activities of the Lotus Festival, the locality wishes each person to become a "cultural and tourism ambassador", joining hands to build the image of friendly, hospitable and rich in identity Cao Lanh; and at the same time develop more unique cultural and tourism products to serve people and tourists.
Leaders of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee also requested service forces and units participating in the program to closely coordinate, ensuring that the organization takes place safely and civilizedly, leaving beautiful impressions in the hearts of tourists, contributing to spreading the image of Cao Lanh and Dong Thap homeland.
