A group of Singaporean tourists recently drove to the top of Everest in a 22-day journey. Jeremy See, a member of the group, shared the experience on his personal page and attracted a lot of attention.
The trip began on September 28 and ended on October 20. The group drove through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and China, ending at the summit of Mount Everest in Tibet at 8,846m.
Mr. See drove a Toyota Land Cruiser from Singapore to China. Passing through many countries and driving on many different terrains, they encountered many challenges.
In Tibet, one of the group's vehicles had an accident and slid off the main road, but fortunately there was little damage. In return, Mr. See's exploration team was able to spend time admiring the sights along the way.
On October 20, the adventure ended when they reached Everest base camp in Tibet. See’s car was not allowed to drive near the summit, so they took a bus to continue their journey to base camp.
Previously, in August 2023, Mr. See and his wife drove for 100 days from London (UK) to Singapore. The couple spent about 110,000 Singapore dollars (savings, including the cost of transporting the car to London). They and 11 other couples joined the journey through 23 countries and ended on November 10, 2023.
