Dak Lak - The central ward of the province arranges 25 parking spots to prevent overcharging during the Durian Festival.

On August 16, Buon Ma Thuot Ward People's Committee, Dak Lak province said that in order to meet the travel and sightseeing needs of people and tourists during the Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026, the ward has arranged 25 parking spots on roads in the central area and near festival venues.

According to the implemented plan, parking spots are arranged on many routes such as Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Truong Chinh, Nguyen Cong Tru, Le Duan, Ngo Quyen, Le Hong Phong, Tran Quang Khai, Ly Nam De, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Y Bi Ale O and some surrounding areas.

The arrangement of parking spots aims to create convenience for people and tourists to park vehicles, and at the same time contribute to ensuring urban order, traffic safety, security and order, and urban aesthetics during the festival.

The parking price is publicly listed, 8,000 VND/vehicle/turn during the day, 12,000 VND/vehicle/turn at night.

According to requirements, parking lots must publicly list prices, arrange guidance staff, ensure vehicle safety; must not arbitrarily charge higher than the prescribed price and not allow illegal encroachment on roads and sidewalks to occur.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Tuan, Head of Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police, said that the police force will coordinate with functional forces to strengthen patrols and controls in the festival area and roads with parking spots arranged.

Functional forces will resolutely handle acts of taking advantage of festivals to collect fees against regulations, "overcharging", causing disorder, encroaching on roads and sidewalks. At the same time, parking lots are required to strictly implement public price listing, ensuring property safety for people and tourists.

When detecting spontaneous parking spots, charging fees higher than the listed level, causing disorder, not ensuring property safety or showing signs of causing insecurity and disorder, people and tourists should immediately report to the Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police or the nearest functional agency to be received and handled," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tuan said.
