Breakthrough opportunity for Vietnam tourism with technology and innovation

Da Nang - Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism emphasized that Vietnam's tourism will focus on new products and a smart ecosystem.

On August 26, at the HORECFEX Vietnam 2025 International Conference with the theme "Leading the future of the hospitality industry", Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that in the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam's tourism welcomed over 12.2 million international tourists, an increase of 22.5% over the same period in 2023, and 2024.

The tourism industry serves 93 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism reached about 616,000 billion VND.

In recent times, along with the growth of the tourism industry, the technical infrastructure system of tourism accommodation services and the restaurant and culinary service system have been increasingly consolidated, developing rapidly in terms of quantity, type and quality.

A series of international service complexes are managed by economic groups with many leading brands in the tourism sector, contributing to improving the attractiveness and competitiveness of Vietnam's tourism, ensuring the ability to supply and meet diverse needs for tens of millions of visitors each year in different market segments.

According to Mr. Khanh, currently, the tourism industry is focusing on implementing resolutions and directives of the Government and the Prime Minister on promoting tourism development, ensuring the implementation of the double-digit economic growth target in the coming time.

Some important tasks that need to be focused on include increasing the attractiveness of the destination, focusing on investing in developing new, creative, and different tourism products, improving technical facilities and infrastructure for tourism.

In particular, the entire industry is making efforts to promote digital transformation solutions in the spirit of the direction in Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, aiming to form a smart, seamless tourism ecosystem, comprehensively supporting tourism management, business activities and enhancing the experience of tourists.

With the theme "Technology Exhibition and Forum, Innovation in the Tourism Service Industry", the HOREX 2025 forum focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), digital business and sustainable development and will be a good opportunity for businesses to exchange, discuss and receive solutions to improve customer experience, optimize management and anticipate new trends through in-depth perspectives from leading experts in the tourism sector.

"This is also an opportunity for tourist accommodation establishments, service providers, localities, organizations, domestic and international enterprises to exchange experiences, combine, connect and cooperate, propose new and innovative solutions.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism highly appreciates the importance and contribution of HOREX 2025 to the tourism industry in general and the Vietnamese restaurant and hotel industry in particular," Mr. Khanh emphasized.
