On the evening of April 26, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held the Opening Ceremony of "Summer Tourism Season 2026", and announced the general plan for the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area to 2040, with a vision to 2050.
The event marks an important step in the local tourism development strategy after the merger, opening up a new growth space associated with the marine economy.

For a long time, Mui Ne has been a familiar destination for domestic and foreign tourists. In the new development structure, this area plays the role of sea-facing gateway, connecting the plateau with the coastal strip and the southern key economic region.
The plan identifies the goal of building Mui Ne into an international-level tourist center, a leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
The development model is defined as "One coastal corridor - three centers - multi-directional sea access", creating a flexible space structure, increasing connectivity and effectively exploiting resources.

Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that planning is not only limited to space organization but also a long-term vision. The goal is to build Mui Ne into a sea tourism center with its own identity, high competitiveness, and sustainable development.
The goal is to strive to welcome about 14 million visitors to Mui Ne National Tourist Area by 2030. By 2040, welcome about 25 million visitors and aim for 35 million visitors by 2050.

To make Lam Dong realize this goal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism proposed that the province focus on selecting strategic investors and developing high-quality tourism - resort - sea sports complexes.
At the same time, it is necessary to build a strong enough mechanism to attract resources, clearly position the destination brand, and aim for the segment of international visitors with high spending and long-term stays.

Along with development, localities are recommended to pay attention to environmental protection, landscape preservation, improving the quality of human resources and destination management. Promoting, advertising, and stimulating tourism demand at home and abroad also needs to be promoted.
The announcement of the planning is not only an orientation for infrastructure development, but also opens up a new vision for local tourism.

Along with that, the program "Welcoming the summer tourism season 2026" with the theme "Coming to Lam Dong - Hunting for thousands of clouds, surfing silver waves" is expected to create a boost for the peak season, spreading development motivation to businesses and people, affirming the attractiveness of the destination.
