According to the Department of Tourism, as of the end of September 2024, Da Nang had 56,135 workers working in the tourism sector, an increase of 10.7% (equivalent to an increase of 5,435 people) over the same period in 2023 and an increase of 28.7% over the same period in 2019, equivalent to an increase of 12,521 people.
Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An said that in the context of the tourism industry recovering and developing strongly, updating and equipping knowledge about market trends, building business strategies, training skills, and improving professional skills for tourism human resources is extremely necessary, helping human resources at businesses improve their knowledge and service quality, thereby improving quality at the grassroots level, contributing to the overall development of the tourism industry in Da Nang.
To develop human resources and improve the quality of services for the city's tourism industry in 2024, the Department of Tourism has issued and implemented Plan No. 106/KH-SDL dated April 26, 2024 on Developing human resources and improving the quality of services for the tourism industry in Da Nang city.
Up to now, the department has organized 20 programs including 7 knowledge update classes for tour guides, 7 information exchange programs and discussion of solutions to attract domestic and international tourist markets and 6 seminars to exchange, share and guide to improve professional skills for human resources in the tourism industry.
