The traditional orchestra performed to welcome guests, creating a bustling atmosphere at the domestic arrival terminal, surprising both businesses and tourists when they arrived in Da Nang city.
This is one of the activities in the program to promote and attract MICE tourists (a type of tourism combining conferences, seminars, exhibitions, event organization, corporate incentive tourism for employees, partners, etc.) that Da Nang City has implemented in recent years, bringing positive impacts to both businesses and tourists.
This policy applies to both domestic and international MICE delegations with activities such as: reception, welcome, giving local souvenirs, media support and consulting on MICE event organization, supporting advance delegations as well as honoring units bringing guests to Da Nang.
Although it is the end of the year and the weather is not favorable, some domestic tourism businesses in Da Nang still welcome MICE groups of more than 500 guests.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Son - Director of DANAGO Tourism Joint Stock Company - said that this is the 15th MICE delegation that the unit has welcomed this year. However, this is one of the typical delegations with 550 guests from a large corporation. Therefore, when building the program, the unit contacted the Department of Tourism to be supported with reception activities right at the airport.
Having a traditional orchestra perform to welcome guests, and the head of the delegation being presented with flowers and souvenirs from the Da Nang Tourism Department made the business itself excited to have the cooperation and help of the local government in welcoming guests.
Mr. Son said: “I think MICE groups are a great potential for travel businesses in Da Nang. Because, when MICE groups come to Da Nang, they will use conference services, accommodation, dining, and sightseeing at tourist attractions in Da Nang, helping to bring revenue to the city and businesses.
We hope that in the coming time, in order to have a more synchronized MICE group policy, the city's Department of Tourism and businesses will coordinate together to further develop this policy."
This is the third time he has traveled to Da Nang with his company. Mr. Tran Quang Hieu - a tourist in the MICE group this time - still feels excited and happy when being warmly welcomed at the airport.
“When we arrive in Da Nang, we always receive a warm and thoughtful welcome. Everything from the airport, accommodation, food, sightseeing and shopping is very good. Da Nang people are very friendly and open. Just arriving at the airport and being welcomed so respectfully like this is something that only happens in Da Nang, we are very excited” - Mr. Hieu shared.
