On September 2nd, the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee issued a document on strengthening security and order for tourism.
This document is sent to relevant departments, branches and Commune and Ward People's Committees to further improve state management in this field.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade, relevant agencies and units and People's Committees of communes and wards (especially localities with eco-tourism areas and spots) to review the actual inadequacies in prices and tourism services in the past time.
Units must promptly record legitimate feedback from businesses and people, proactively coordinate to propose thorough solutions to improve the quality of tourism services and ensure the lives of people participating in tourism activities.
At the same time, publicly and uniformly list tourism service prices at tourist areas and attractions in accordance with regulations, aiming to stabilize and further promote the development of the tourism industry in the coming time.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also presides over and coordinates with relevant departments and functional sectors to develop periodic and unscheduled inspection plans for organizations and individuals operating in the tourism sector, ensuring strict compliance with current regulations, especially regulations on security and safety in tourism activities.
At the present time, focus on inspecting a number of issues such as: operating registration permits and conditions to ensure safety for tourists of ships, boats, and ferries serving tourists; adventurous tourism activities at the headwaters of the Tien River in the flood season, especially spontaneous activities.
People's Committees of communes and wards strengthen state management of tourism activities in the area; in which special attention is paid to reviewing and managing unregistered and spontaneous types of adventure tourism.
