Forecast of the time when storm No. 3 Yagi will make landfall, with the most intense wind and rain

Typhoon Yagi is currently in the coastal waters of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong with wind gusts of level 17, expected to make landfall early this afternoon, September 7.

According to the latest storm information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on September 7, the center of storm No. 3 Yagi was located at about 20.6 degrees North latitude; 107.6 degrees East longitude, in the sea area of ​​Quang Ninh - Hai Phong.

According to forecasts, the storm's current strongest wind speed is level 13-14 (134-166 km/h) and can gust up to level 17.

Over the next three hours, the storm is expected to move west-northwest at a speed of about 20 km/h. The storm continues to have a major impact on coastal and inland areas.

Regarding the wind observation results at 9am today, on Bach Long Vi island there is wind level 12, gusting to level 13.

Co To island district (Quang Ninh) has wind level 8, gusting to level 9.

Cua Ong, Cam Pha city (Quang Ninh) has wind level 11, gust level 12

Phu Lien, Kien An district (Hai Phong) has wind level 6, gust level 8.

Ba Lat estuary (Thai Binh) has wind level 7, gust level 9.

Van Ly, Hai Hau district (Nam Dinh) has level 7 wind gusts.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also forecasts the time of the strongest wind and rain in each locality. Accordingly, the Hai Phong - Quang Ninh area is expected to have the strongest wind and rain from about 13:00 to 19:00 today.

In the Thai Binh - Nam Dinh area, the strongest wind and rain are expected to occur from about 4pm to 10pm today.

In Hanoi, the strongest wind and rain are expected from around 6pm today to 1am on September 8.

On September 5, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed and issued an Official Dispatch on proactively responding to storm No. 3 in 2024.

Telegram sent to the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Heads of units under the Ministry in the following provinces/cities: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh.

The dispatch clearly stated that, implementing the Prime Minister's dispatch No. 86/CD-TTg dated September 3, 2024 on proactively responding to storm No. 3 in 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Directors of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the above localities to proactively coordinate closely with local authorities to review, count, proactively inform and guide boats and means of tourism activities at sea to know, not to enter or exit dangerous areas or to safe shelters; deploy evacuation and shelter measures to ensure safety for tourists.

Along with that, it is necessary to check, review and implement plans to ensure safety for people and property at cultural and sports institutions, historical - cultural relics, scenic spots, tourist areas and spots in the area; based on the actual situation and the possibility of storms and floods, proactively decide or advise competent authorities to direct the temporary suspension of entertainment, recreation and tourism activities in the locality.

The units under the Ministry in the above localities closely monitor forecast information and developments of storms, rains and floods to deploy response plans, ensure safety for people and property managed by the unit, and activities organized by the unit; recommend civil servants, public employees and workers to limit going out during storms and heavy rains and floods.

Directors of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Heads of units under the Ministry in the above localities shall seriously organize on-duty, promptly inform and report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the situation of storm response, damage occurring in the management areas of the Industry during and after the storm (if any) at the following address:
