On February 22, An Giang Department of Tourism said that from February 14 - 22, 2026 (from December 27 to the 6th day of Tet), the total number of visitors to visit and travel is estimated at more than 1.7 million visitors (an increase of more than 37% compared to the same period), of which international visitors are more than 98,000 (an increase of 28.6% compared to the same period). Average room occupancy rate reached more than 78%; total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 2,600 billion VND (an increase of 39% compared to the same period).
Phu Quoc special zone alone is estimated to welcome nearly 360,000 visitors (an increase of nearly 30% compared to the same period), of which nearly 93,000 international visitors (an increase of 24.3% compared to the same period).
Other communes, wards, and special zones: Rach Gia welcomed more than 14,000 visitors, Ha Tien more than 196,000 visitors, Kien Hai nearly 35,000 visitors, Vinh Te more than 551,000 visitors, Nui Cam nearly 123,000 visitors, Thoi Son nearly 181,000 visitors, Tri Ton more than 120,000 visitors.
Director of An Giang Department of Tourism - Bui Quoc Thai said that in order to prepare for serving the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 thoughtfully, the Department of Tourism has issued a Directive Plan, assigning tasks to specialized departments to deploy the organization of tourism activities, foreign affairs, and border work to serve Tet.
From February 14 to February 22, 2026, the Department will arrange for leaders, civil servants and employees to be on duty during Tet every day; arrange for civil servants to be on duty at the focal point to receive information and quickly report to proactively handle arising issues (if any); maintain smooth state management of tourism, without interruption.
The Department of Tourism has issued documents to relevant agencies and units to coordinate and support the provision of tourist information during Tet; documents directing key tourist areas, Tourism Associations, Chefs Associations, tourist areas/spots, and tourism business units in the province to ensure strengthening management and control of service quality at business establishments, publicly listing service prices, strictly implementing measures to ensure fire and explosion prevention, food safety and hygiene, traffic safety, and security and order.
Arrange on-duty forces seriously; have rescue and relief plans in key areas attracting tourists to visit, play and entertain, tourist transport vehicles; do not allow the situation of price increases, price squeezing, and soliciting tourists to negatively affect the tourism image of the locality.
