According to the latest report of OAG (Official Airline Guide), the world's leading aviation data analysis organization, the most impressive bright spot in the July rankings is the breakthrough of the Da Nang - Hanoi (HAN) route.
This route has made an incredible leap, making it into the Top 10 busiest domestic routes in the world and holding the eighth position.
The growth rate of seats provided on this route reached 10% compared to the same period last year.
This is one of the highest growth rates in the Top 10, just behind the Jeddah (JED) - Riyadh (RUH) route of Saudi Arabia (up 16%).
This growth rate not only shows the attraction of Da Nang as a leading tourist destination but also emphasizes Hanoi's central role in connecting with key economic regions in the Central region.
In addition, the route connecting the two largest economic and political centers of the country, Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), continues to be one of the busiest domestic air routes in the world, maintaining the third position in the rankings.
Although the number of seats provided has decreased slightly by 1% compared to the same period in 2024, this route is still the backbone of Vietnam's domestic flight network, playing an indispensable role in promoting trade, tourism and economic connectivity.
This location is only behind two extremely busy routes, Jeju (CJU) - Seoul (GMP) of South Korea (with 1.17 million seats) and Sapporo (CTS) - Tokyo (HND) of Japan.
Maintaining stability in the top shows that the demand for travel between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is still very high.
OAG's report also outlines a panoramic picture of the world aviation market. While routes in Asia continue to dominate the domestic rankings, markets in other regions also showed significant fluctuations. For example, the Mumbai (BOM) - Delhi (DEL) route in India recorded the largest decline in capacity, up to 9%, falling to Ninth place.
Meanwhile, in the international market, the Asia-Pacific region continues to dominate, accounting for 7 out of the 10 busiest routes. Airports such as Seoul Incheon (ICN), Hong Kong (HKG), and Singapore Changi (SIN) all appeared twice on the list, emphasizing their role as important air transit hubs (hub) in the world.
This ranking was compiled by OAG based on calculating the volume of seats according to the schedule on flights in both directions in July 2025, using reliable data from the Schedules Analyser tool.
