Tuyen Quang - Hotel and homestay in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards... welcomed people for free accommodation during the severe flood that occurred after storm No. 10 Bualoi.

From September to the end of the year is the time of "bullish revenue" for the tourism industry in the Northeast highlands because many tourists visit the stone plateau to hunt for the ripe rice season, buckwheat flower season...

However, due to the impact of the circulation of storm No. 10 Bualoi, many areas in Ha Giang 1 ward, Ha Giang 2 ward were isolated in the middle of floodwaters.

Many serious landslides in communes such as Lung Cu, Dong Van, Yen Minh..., Quang Trung suspension bridge in Ha Giang 2 ward collapsed.

Many hotels and homestays have joined hands to welcome local people and temporary visitors during the flood.

Ms. Phuong Hong, the owner of a hotel in Dong Van commune, was quite worried about the natural disaster situation in the locality and supported people and tourists to stay for free.

Ms. Hong said: "Dong Van is a stop with famous beautiful places such as Lung Cu flagpole, Ma Pi Leng pass or Nho Que river. However, currently, the routes to Dong Van have some landslides, making it difficult for vehicles to move from the plain wards here and vice versa. Our hotel currently has 15 empty rooms, stable electricity and water use, and we want to join hands to help people".

Although working in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu, the owner of a homestay on Huu Nghi Avenue in Ha Giang 1 Ward, still did not forget to ask staff to be on duty by phone and welcome groups of guests as well as local people to stay for free during this difficult time.

"We have received many calls asking to temporarily stay at our homestay. However, because the water is still rising, they have not found a way to move to the accommodation facility. Among them, there was a group of 25 guests who went to pick up the bride but were stuck. My homestay is in a high location, with a capacity of about 30 more people," Mr. Tu shared.

Mr. Tu expressed his hope that everyone will safely overcome this difficult time.

All day on October 1, Ms. Vang Thi Xuyen (living in Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune) diligently participated in cooking to support rescue groups.

Since September 28, for tourists who have booked rooms in advance at their family's homestay, Ms. Xuyen has proactively contacted to inform them about the weather as well as suggested that tourists postpone the tour schedule or cancel or refund their deposit.

Ms. Xuyen confided: "A group of 6 guests staying at our homestay last night left this morning (October 1). I was quite worried and called to ask; currently, they are stuck in Dong Van commune.

Hopefully they will return home safely. My homestay is currently full and I hope to support everyone with free accommodation. There have been 4-5 calls but because most of them are far from my homestay area, I have not found a way to get to Lo Lo Chai".

On October 1, the People's Committee of Meo Vac commune (Tuyen Quang province) urgently requested Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative not to organize tours on Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir during the time affected by storms. The cooperative proactively develops specific response plans for tourism activities, boat reinforcements, and preparation of spare materials.
