According to the Tuyen Quang Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level of the Lo River measured at 7:00 a.m. on October 1 was 25.19 m and will continue to rise in the coming hours. In the historic flood in September 2024, the highest water level on the Lo River reached more than 27m.
Currently, the water has flooded the Victory Road of the Lo River and approached Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, many other places in Minh Xuan Ward (Tuyen Quang Province) have also been submerged in water.
Meanwhile, in Ha Giang ward (the administrative center of the old Ha Giang province), the water level on the Lo river measured at 7:00 a.m. on October 1 reached 105.66m and is continuing to rise. Most of the riverside areas were submerged.

Also according to the Tuyen Quang Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 3 hours, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area, with some heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind that can break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure, endangering human life.
In early September 2024, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant had to open all 8 bottom spillways, causing the water level on the Lo River and Gam River to rise. Tuyen Quang City experienced a historic flood after nearly 20 years with a water level of 27.73m.
Previously, the historic flood in 1971 was recorded with a water level of 31.37m.
