Time Out has announced the list of the 50 best cities in the world in 2025 and the capital Hanoi is ranked 21st. Hanoi is also the only representative of Vietnam on this list.
According to Grace Beard - travel editor of Time Out, the ranking will be based on criteria such as affordability, harmony of nature and attachment of local people.
As the cradle of Vietnamese culture for more than 1,000 years, Hanoi is the land that produced many famous thinkers, poets, and artists of the country and also has many delicious dishes.
When arriving in Hanoi, while walking around the Old Quarter, visitors will feel the attractive aroma of bun cha, pho... In the Hoan Kiem Lake area, visitors will admire famous iconic destinations of Hanoi such as the Great Church, King Ly Thai To Monument, and along with that are cafes hidden in alleys or on ancient houses hundreds of years old.
In addition to famous attractions, Hanoi is honored as one of the top destinations with 3 Michelin-starred restaurants by 2023. In addition, according to a survey from Time Out, Hanoi is the 4th cheapest city to live in on the list when up to 89% of survey participants rated that the cost of a cup of coffee and a movie in Hanoi are very reasonable.
Not only that, Hanoi also has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, different from the two-season weather pattern of rainy season and dry season of most of the country.
Hanoi is increasingly affirming its position on the world tourism map when it is continuously listed in the most attractive destinations.
