Awards increase compared to last year
According to the plan, the 2025 Do Son buffalo fighting festival will take place on September 30 (ie the 9th day of the 8th lunar month) at the Do Son Ward Central Stadium. At the conference, Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Do Son Ward Buffalo Fighting Festival informed about the new features of the festival in 2025.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee adjusted the prize level for buffaloes who won prizes in the festival compared to previous years: First prize of 100 million VND (increased by 30 million VND), Second prize: 70 million VND (increased by 30 million VND), Third prize of 30 million (increased by 10 million VND/tournament).
According to the estimate, the budget for organizing this year's festival is about more than 3 billion VND. Of which, Hai Phong City supported the locality with 1.3 billion VND to organize the festival. In addition, the Organizing Committee also mobilizes socialized organizations, businesses, and individuals to participate in supporting the festival and paying benefits by invitation to attend the festival. With this funding source, in 2025, the Organizing Committee will not coordinate with the event organizer as every year.
To improve the quality of public service, due to the limited capacity of the stadium, to avoid overload and ensure safety, the Organizing Committee continues to arrange larger LED screens and in more convenient locations outside the stadium to meet the enjoyment needs of visitors coming to the stadium but cannot enter the stadium to watch live.
The act of selling holiday invitations is strictly prohibited
According to the Festival Organizing Committee, this year the festival will only issue invitations, not sell tickets. Invitations will be given to central and local delegates, agencies, business organizations participating in supporting the festival and the people. Invitations for people will be distributed to residential groups of Do Son and Nam Do Son wards.
"The act of selling holiday invitations is strictly prohibited" - Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan informed.
Up to now, Do Son ward has prepared basic facilities for the festival. 16 buffaloes participating in the festival also underwent 2/3 inspections to assess the quality and safety of fighting buffaloes. Through inspection, 100% of fighting buffaloes are physically fit, relatively pure, without "ighp" buffaloes.
However, the Organizing Committee will continue to conduct the final inspection before September 19. When detecting buffaloes showing aggression and attacking people, they must resolutely remove them from the list of buffaloes participating in the festival; proactively replace them.
The Organizing Committee also requires buffalo owners to arrange people to regularly graze, guide buffaloes, and cover buffalo horns during care and movement. Along with that, organize buffalo training in locations far from residential areas; do not gather crowds, especially do not let the elderly and children near the buffalo training area; take measures to ensure safety for everyone in the process of caring for and training buffaloes to participate in the festival.
