On December 22, the Center for Culture - Information and Sports of Thu Dau Mot Ward (HCMC) urgently implemented the project to display the conical hat road. This is a project to welcome the New Year and Lunar New Year 2026.
The project does not use elaborate materials but is formed from simple, rustic conical hats. These conical hats are products of the painting contest on conical hats at schools in the area.
Exhibition of hand-painted conical hats, with diverse themes from spring, rural landscapes, praising the Party and the country. Each conical hat is not only a familiar item, but also contains the creativity, emotions and stories of the people of Thu Dau Mot.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Vuong Duc Hieu - Director of the Center for Culture - Information and Sports of Thu Dau Mot ward said that about 2,600 hats were used for display on Quang Trung street. The conical hat road project will be officially completed on December 23.
"The project is carried out with the goal of preserving the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people through the conical hat. This is a familiar image, associated with Vietnamese women. Second, create a highlight for sightseeing, giving people a check-in spot to take photos during the coming of Tet and spring. Third, children and people should focus on meaningful cultural activities during Tet" - Mr. Vuong Duc Hieu said.
Thousands of hats are hung shortly, intertwined under the canopy of cool green trees on Quang Trung Street. Many people took the opportunity to take photos and check in next to this unique conical hat road.

"The conical hat has long been a symbol of the Vietnamese people, both simple and containing charming beauty and traditional cultural and spiritual life. On Quang Trung Street, conical hats are given a new look through unique paintings. The road brings us many emotions" - Ms. Huynh Xuan Nha (a resident of Thu Dau Mot ward) expressed her feelings.
People and tourists taking photos on this road section should stand on the sidewalk, close to the roadside, and not park their vehicles freely on the road to ensure traffic safety.
