Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2026 covers 6 symbolic cultural spaces of the Capital, from historical sediments of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi Museum, to community spaces such as Bat Trang commune, Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
Before the opening ceremony taking place on the evening of September 11th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, preparations for the event are completing the final stages.

Taking on the role of Scriptwriter and General Director, director Pham Hoang Giang said that the opening ceremony of Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2026 is staged in the direction of combining traditional art and modern technology, promising to create an artistic space rich in identity, novelty and performance.
According to the director, the noteworthy point of the program lies in the diverse stage language. Music, dance, orchestra, video clips and modern stage solutions are combined to create different visual and emotional layers.
The crew chose a staging method combining stage and semi-real scenery, exploiting the historically rich space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel as part of the artistic story.
Demonstration technology, including AR, will be used to create visual effects on typical works and images of Hanoi's heritage.
We want the audience not only to watch an art program on stage, but also to feel like they are entering a flow of heritage, where layers of culture, music, people and time move together," General Director Pham Hoang Giang shared.


The opening art program at Thang Long Imperial Citadel has a scale of about 1,000 actors, with the participation of many famous artists such as Tung Duong, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, NSND Thanh Hoai, NSUT Van Ty, Quach Mai Thy, Ca Nuong Kieu Anh, Ngo Lan Huong, Thanh Huyen, Oplus...
At the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the Festival also expands experiences through activities such as the art program "Khai Van", displaying paintings and statues on the theme of Thang Long - Hanoi "Kinh Ky Highlights", displaying historical ao dai art "Ha Thanh Highlights", or the 3D Mapping program "The First School".




In addition, art programs at the Hanoi Museum are also invested on a large scale, from 500 artists and actors in the traditional art program "Music and Heritage"; 500 artists and actors in the contemporary art program "Connecting Heritage - Creating the Future"; to the program "Heritage Source" with about 200 artists.
Meanwhile, Bat Trang space becomes a special stage of "The Sound of Pottery", with the participation of 50 actors, bringing art closer to the craft village space and living heritage of Hanoi.
Thang Long - Hanoi Festival is an annual cultural event, both an occasion to honor the historical and cultural values of the thousand-year-old capital, and an affirmation of the sustainable vitality of Thang Long heritage amidst the modern pace of life.
