On September 3rd (local time), the 2026 China Culture and Tourism Industry Fair (CTIE) officially opened in Tianjin city. The 4-day event, hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attracted more than 2,500 cultural and tourism businesses from 20 countries and territories, along with 10 international organizations and national industry associations.
Focusing on the theme of cultural - tourism integration and smart life, this year's fair is spread over a total area of 100,000m2. The exhibition space is divided into 10 thematic sub-zones, introducing emerging digital business models, integrating culture - tourism, modern outdoor equipment, camping cars (RV), international cooperation areas and smart consumer products.
Throughout the event, the organizers deployed 18 professional activities focusing on promoting regional linkages, industrial innovation, virtual reality (VR) technology transfer and stimulating the tourism market.
According to data from the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the country's domestic tourism market continued to maintain its growth momentum in the first half of 2026 with more than 3.46 billion trips, up 5.4% over the same period, total spending reached 3,210 billion yuan (about 473.4 billion USD).
Representatives of the organizing committee said that the demand for high-quality products, role-playing experiences and personalized services is opening up opportunities for deep cross-border cooperation for the entire region.
Ms. Ha Sieu Quynh, Vice President cum Secretary General of the Global Tourism Economic Forum, emphasized that this event is a key bridge to promote cross-border cooperation, bring cultural and tourism products to the global market, and expand investment capital flows and international professional transfer.
Located in the international cooperation sub-zone of the fair, Hanoi city organized the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the booth and the program to introduce the Capital's tourist destination with the theme "Hanoi - Cooperation and Development".
Hanoi city's booth has a scale of 100m2, bringing international partners the image of a heritage, safe, rich in identity destination and constantly innovating products, nightlife services as well as smart tourism applications.
