During the 5-day National Day holiday September 2nd, two urban railway lines in Hanoi served more than 408,000 free passengers, of which the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line accounted for more than 275,000 passengers.
On September 3rd, Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) said that, implementing the policy of Hanoi City People's Committee on exempting fares for using public passenger transport by bus and urban railway, the unit has exempted 100% of the single ticket price for people and tourists on 2 metro lines currently operating during National Day September 2nd.
According to statistics, during the 5 holidays (from August 29th to the end of September 2nd), the total passenger volume on 2 urban railway lines reached 408,814 passengers.
In which, route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong served 275,270 passengers, route 3, 1 Nhon - Hanoi Station (elevated section) served 133,544 passengers.
During this time, Hanoi Metro organizes safe operation of more than 2,015 train trips, with 100% of train trips departing and arriving on time, contributing to ensuring convenient and smooth travel for people and tourists during peak days.
According to Hanoi Metro, the toll exemption during National Day along with the connection between metro, buses, public bicycles and other transportation services has created favorable conditions for people to choose public transport when visiting, playing and moving in the Capital.
The unit assessed that the increase in passenger volume during the holiday shows that urban railways are gradually becoming one of the transportation choices prioritized by people and tourists, while contributing to reducing the pressure of personal vehicles.
From September 1st, Hanoi Metro also officially applies interconnected electronic tickets between route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong, route 3/1 Nhon - Hanoi Station (elevated section) and the bus network. The unit also deploys monthly tickets combined with Metro and TNGo public bicycles.
According to representatives of Hanoi Metro, multi-modal interconnected electronic tickets are applied to physical traffic ticket cards (chip-based cards) and non-physical ticket cards (virtual cards) on the "Hanoi Traffic Ticket" application. Passengers can use interconnected tickets by time (day, week, month) and free tickets on the entire subsidized bus network and 2 operating urban railway lines.
The price of multi-modal inter-agency monthly tickets is reduced by 40% compared to buying single-modal tickets. Specifically, priority inter-agency tickets are priced at 250,000 VND/month, and general inter-agency tickets are 500,000 VND/month.
For passengers who do not use smartphones, physical transport ticket registration is carried out through the e-ticket website. Chip cards are processed and sent to the registered address within 3-5 working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, Tet.
Passengers who only use 2 urban railway lines can still buy tickets on the Hanoi Metro application, at ticket counters or vending machines at stations.
In addition, Hanoi Metro is deploying monthly tickets combined with Metro - TNGo public bicycles on the Hanoi Metro application. Passengers can buy and use 2 services simultaneously on one application.
TNGo bicycle stations are arranged at some stations such as Cat Linh, La Thanh, Lang, Thuong Dinh, Van Khe and Cau Giay, creating conditions to connect the journey from the station to the starting and ending points.
Metro - TNGo combined monthly tickets are reduced by 15% compared to buying individual monthly tickets. The price of tickets combined with priority methods is 340,000 VND/month, and economy tickets are 430,000 VND/month.
Connecting the Metro with buses, public bicycles and other modes of transport is expected to contribute to forming an interconnected and convenient public transport network, reducing travel costs and encouraging people to limit the use of personal vehicles.
