According to the Plan of the Dong Thap Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Via Ba Chua Xu Go Thap Festival 2026 takes place from April 30 to May 2, 2026, at the Go Thap Special National Relic Site (Doc Binh Kieu commune). The Via Ba Chua Xu Go Thap Festival is prepared with many rich activities, harmoniously combining the ritual and festival parts.
The ceremony part is solemnly performed according to traditional folk belief rituals, meeting the legitimate spiritual needs of the people. Meanwhile, the festival part is imbued with cultural and tourism colors with a series of unique activities such as the exhibition of Dong Thap cultural and tourism heritage; display of publications, documents, specialized books and newspapers; performance of classical opera art, folk performance "dance of shadows"; along with dưỡng sinh gymnastics performances, lion - dragon dance.
In parallel, there is the Go Thap rural market space, promotion activities for tours, routes and tourist destinations of the locality. Tourists can also participate in many folk games such as pushing sticks, sack dancing, tug-of-war... creating a joyful atmosphere, connecting the community.
Previously, on the first day of 2026, Dong Thap province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include the Death Anniversary of Thien Ho Vo Duy Duong and Doc Binh Nguyen Tan Kieu and the Via Ba Chua Xu Go Thap Festival in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
Being recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage not only affirms the historical and cultural value of the festival, but also opens up opportunities to promote the image of the homeland and people of Dong Thap, attracting tourists inside and outside the province.
