Da Nang - The Special-Use Forest Management Board has just signed and opened a tourist route "Heritage Journey: My Son - Nong Son - Que Phuoc - Elephant Species and Habitat Conservation Area".

According to the Da Nang Special-Use Forest Management Board, the Elephant Species and Habitat Conservation Area will develop ecotourism products in a sustainable direction, taking conservation as the foundation, community as the center and indigenous culture as the identity. The goal is not only to create more new destinations but also to raise tourists' awareness of forest protection and biodiversity.

Expected products include a program to learn about the ecosystem and living environment of wild elephants through environmental education activities, ensuring no impact on the natural habits of animals. In addition, there are journeys to explore primeval forests, learn about conservation work, experience indigenous culture, traditional cuisine, handicrafts and the lives of local people.

The reserve also orients the development of trekking, nature observation, photography and controlled scientific research activities. In parallel, there is the "Responsible Tourism" program, encouraging each visitor to participate in forest protection, wildlife conservation and emission reduction activities throughout the journey.

The highlight of the model is creating sustainable livelihoods for the local community through accommodation services, tour guides, cuisine, OCOP products and local specialties. When people directly benefit from tourism, the value of the forest is raised, contributing to shifting conservation from the task of specialized forces to the responsibility and common interests of the community.

The new tourist route is expected to contribute to connecting heritage, nature and cultural values, while opening up a direction for ecotourism development associated with biodiversity conservation in Da Nang.
