On July 25, at the Hue City Labor Culture House, the Hue City Labor Federation opened the 2026 Trade Union Member and Laborer Sports Festival, celebrating the 97th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quy - Vice Chairman of Hue City Labor Federation, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Sports Festival - said that the sports festival is a practical activity to promote the movement of physical exercise and sports, improve health, create a united and civilized working environment and strengthen exchanges between union members and workers.
This year's sports festival attracted 36 teams with 484 athletes, competing in 5 sports including men's football, women's football, badminton, table tennis and pickleball, with 22 competition categories.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches took place sôi nổi, attracting a large number of fans to cheer.
According to the Organizing Committee, the sports festival contributes to caring for the spiritual life of union members and workers, promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, and building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
