More and more tourists, especially locals, choose spiritual tourism in Quang Ngai.

During the Lunar New Year 2025, tourist areas and spots in Quang Ngai welcomed about 110,000 visitors, with total estimated tourism revenue reaching 65 billion VND. According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of overnight guests reached about 28,000, while visitors to tourist areas and spots were estimated at more than 81,000.

Among the prominent destinations, Minh Duc Pagoda welcomed 32,000 visitors; Thien An Pagoda and Huynh Thuc Khang's tomb welcomed about 5,000 visitors... Notably, although still in the process of completion, Minh Duc Pagoda continued to maintain its "top" position in terms of visitors during this year's traditional Tet holiday. In 2024, this pagoda will also lead with more than 8,000 visitors coming to visit and worship Buddha.

Not only Minh Duc Pagoda, many spiritual and cultural establishments in Quang Ngai also attract a large number of tourists, such as Ong Pagoda (Tu Nghia District), Truong Ba Temple (Tra Bong District)...

In recent years, spiritual tourism has become the choice of many tourists during holidays and Tet.

Ms. Uyen Trinh, resident of Nghia Chanh commune, Quang Ngai city, shared: "Although I have visited many pagodas in many places, this is the first time I have come to Minh Duc pagoda. I am truly overwhelmed by the majestic beauty of the pagoda right in my hometown, especially the tallest Buddha statue in Southeast Asia".

One of the pagodas that attracts the second largest number of visitors during the Lunar New Year 2025 is Thien An Pagoda. Built in 1694 and recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic since 1990. Thien An Pagoda is not only a spiritual symbol of Quang Ngai people but also an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists and Buddhists. With a peaceful space and long history, Thien An Pagoda is always the first choice for those who want to find their roots.

Spiritual tourism is not only a tourism product but also brings "double value" because it not only promotes tourism to become a key economic sector, but also contributes to preserving and promoting the cultural, historical and precious heritage values of the nation. For spiritual tourism to develop sustainably and match its potential, Quang Ngai needs investment and attention from all levels of government, businesses and the community.

Quang Ngai is not only famous for its scenic spots and historical relics but also possesses rich resources for tourism development, especially spiritual tourism. According to the plan of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, in 2025, the province aims to welcome more than 1.7 million visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at VND 1,680 billion. Diverse tourism products, especially sea and island tourism, will continue to play a leading role in tourism development, alongside the strong development of cultural and spiritual tourism.
