Long Tet holiday boost
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, many 4-star hotels and above in the province, especially in major tourist centers, have recorded room outage. Room bookings continue to increase, partly due to the 2026 New Year holiday being extended to 4 days (from January 1st).
The fact that New Year's Day 2026 is arranged for 4 consecutive days off is considered a "boost" for the tourism market at the beginning of the year. Compared to before, only 1 day off, longer holidays allow tourists to stay for 2-3 nights, participate in many experiential activities.
However, the Quang Ninh tourism industry believes that the advantage of long-term vacations is only truly effective when accompanied by a well-prepared product and event chain.
From September 2025, all levels of government, businesses and the Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Association have implemented a series of new products and services along with demand stimulus programs and large-scale cultural and entertainment events to enhance the experience for tourists, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2026.
The biggest highlight in the series of New Year's Eve activities in Quang Ninh is the New Year's Eve 2026 Countdown program, with the theme "Discipline - Empathy, Creating the Future", expected to take place from 9:30 PM on December 31, 2025, at 30.10 Square, Ha Long ward.
The program lasts 180 minutes, with a scale of nearly 50,000 spectators, gathering many famous artists, singers, and bands; combining music and dance performances, electronic music and modern projection technology, sound, lighting, visuals, and mapping. In particular, the high-altitude fireworks display is expected to bring a brilliant festival night in the moment of New Year's transition.
The Organizing Committee has issued 25,000 free invitation tickets online at the registration portal https://quangninh.dangkyve.com, creating conditions for people and tourists to easily access and participate in the event.
The festival atmosphere is not only concentrated in Ha Long, Bai Chay but also spreads to many localities in the province. In Van Don special zone, the art program "New Journey - Connecting Music" will take place at 8:00 PM on December 29th, with the participation of many artists such as Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung, Ngoc Anh, Tuan Anh, Hong Nhung..., bringing more entertainment choices for tourists and local people.
Many incentives, increased experience
The heat of Countdown programs and year-end events has become a "tactic" for accommodation establishments and tourism businesses to launch many incentive packages.
FLC Hotel offers a price of about 1.9 million VND/room, including 1 5-star standard stay, breakfast and the privilege of receiving tickets to attend the big music festival at 30/10 Square for 400 customers, applicable until the end of December 31st.
Meanwhile, yachts and boats visiting Ha Long Bay organize year-end parties with music programs, lucky draws, fireworks displays, bringing a New Year's experience right on the World Natural Heritage Site.
In Yen Tu, Legacy Yen Tu Resort has built many activities imbued with cultural colors and heritage atmosphere such as: year-end afternoon tea, year-end buffet party, 2026 Countdown party, releasing lanterns for good luck, check-in to Bright Road with 100 candles, camping...
Inter-regional products such as "Heritage Journey" connecting Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu Scenic Relic Area continue to attract the attention of tourists.
In parallel with major events, Quang Ninh promotes cultural - culinary journeys, eco-tourism for mountainous communities, MICE tourism; exploiting the unique strengths of Dong Trieu, Binh Lieu, Mong Cai, creating a diverse series of experiences.
Many destinations apply deep incentives: Sun World reduces by another 10% from December 24, 2025 to January 1, 2026. Many hotels, resorts, and travel businesses reduce prices from 15-30% for accommodation services, package tours, along with room upgrades, early check-in, late check-out, and business gifts.
According to Mr. Nguyen Lam Nguyen - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the tourism industry has requested tourist areas and attractions and businesses to strengthen inspection and supervision of service quality; ensure security and order, fire prevention and fighting safety, food safety and hygiene; and at the same time renovate spaces, decorate lighting, and build more experiential activities for tourists.
Mr. Nguyen The Hue - Chairman of Quang Ninh Tourism Association - said that tourism stimulus packages that 40 hotels, restaurants and 25 cruise ships registered to participate in from September 2025 to now are still being implemented, with many forms such as discounts, increased after-sales service, offering package combos, ensuring the principle of not reducing service quality.
