After more than 5 months of suspension to upgrade the runway and taxiway, Lien Khuong International Airport is completing the final stages before resuming operation on August 19.
Not only restoring the important aviation gateway of Lam Dong, this event is also expected to attract tourists back, especially during the peak season at the end of the year.
In parallel with the progress of completing the project, airlines have developed plans to resume operations. Right from the opening day, Lien Khuong airport is expected to receive 36-40 flights per day, serving about 6,800 passengers.
In the last 4 months of 2026, the number of passengers through the airport is forecast to reach about 816,000, creating a significant source of passengers for the local tourism and service industry.
Key routes from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi will be increased to 7-8 flights per day on each route. Da Lat - Da Nang, Vinh, Can Tho and Hai Phong routes are also restored with appropriate frequency to meet the travel needs of people and tourists.
In the international market, the Da Lat - Kuala Lumpur route is expected to resume from September 2 with 4 flights per week. At the same time, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) is coordinating with Lam Dong province and airlines to promote the restoration of routes to Korea, Thailand, and study opening new routes to Singapore and Japan.

The reopening of Lien Khuong airport is considered an important boost for the Lam Dong tourism industry. When aviation connectivity is unlocked, travel businesses, hotels and resorts will have conditions to rebuild stimulus programs and expand inter-regional tours.
In the context that the locality is implementing many stimulus programs and a series of year-end tourism events, increasing the frequency of exploitation and opening more routes is expected to help Lam Dong welcome more tourists, creating momentum for the tourism, trade and service industries to grow in the last months of the year.
