On the morning of January 30, at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum, the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition "Horses in the art of shaping" took place.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh - Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum said: "The horse image appeared quite early and is popular in ancient art, folk art and applied art, modern art. The horse is a zodiac sign symbolizing strength, loyalty and will to rise up.

The exhibition introduces to the public 60 unique works, selected from collections of folk art, applied art, modern and contemporary art.
The works introduced at the exhibition are diverse in types and materials such as: lacquer, oil paint, silk, paper paintings, wood, terracotta, ceramics...

All are created by folk artisans and Vietnamese shaping artists from the Indochinese art period, resistance art to contemporary art.
The image of the horse is associated with the heroic spirit and resilient national will. Typical is the image of Saint Giong in the works of Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Ngo Manh Lan, Tran Khanh Chuong, showing the harmonious combination of traditional values and modern visual language.

In the lives of highland people, horses are close companions, vividly depicted through the works of To Ngoc Van, Nguyen Van Ty, Bui Xuan Phai.
During the resistance period, the image of horses side by side with soldiers, especially alongside President Ho Chi Minh through the works of Duong Bich Lien, Nguyen Trong Kiem, Nguyen Thu, has become a symbol of rich human values, showing the closeness of Him to nature and resistance life.
Today, the image of horses continues to be seen as a symbol of strength, loyalty and will to rise up. At the same time, horses also carry messages of luck and success.
Through the exhibition, the image of the horse is not only seen as a familiar pet, useful in labor and combat, but also as an artistic symbol with many emotional levels.

The exhibition brings the public an art space rich in traditional values and spiritual meaning. Thereby, reflecting the breath of the times in the early days of Binh Ngo spring 2026.
