On March 30, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that the locality had grasped information about the incident of a singer wearing a swimsuit, soaking in Gieng Tien (belonging to Eo Gio tourist area - Nhon Ly fishing village), causing public stir.
Through initial verification, the person appearing in the images spread on social networks is singer Juky San.
According to local authorities, at the time the female singer soaked herself, the stone stele marking the Gieng Tien area had been swept away by storm No. 13 and had not been reinstalled by the management unit. Therefore, tourists find it difficult to recognize the specific nature of this area.
Leaders of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee said that Gieng Tien is not a ranked relic and there is no regulation prohibiting bathing.
However, this is a place associated with the beliefs of local people. After the incident occurred, the female singer removed the image and apologized.
Local authorities said they will organize area cleaning, check water sources at the well, and at the same time request the management unit to soon reinstall stone steles to warn and avoid inappropriate behaviors of tourists.
Previously, images of Juky San soaking in Fairy Well were spread on social networks. This image quickly caused controversy, because this place has long been considered a spiritual destination by people.
According to local people, Gieng Tien is located in the middle of a barren rocky mountain area, but there is fresh water flowing out year-round from the rock crevice. Many people believe this is a "heaven-given" water source, with special significance in terms of spirit and health, so they often express their respect when visiting.
The singer's immersion directly in the water caused a part of public opinion to be outraged, believing that this action could affect water hygiene, tourist experiences as well as cultural and religious values in the locality.
On the afternoon of March 30, Juky San apologized, saying that the initial purpose was just to record beautiful images to introduce the landscape. However, the crew chose the setting of Gieng Tien without fully understanding the spiritual element.
The female singer admitted her shortcomings and said that this is a lesson to learn from.
Regarding the incident, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province has directed specialized units to coordinate with the locality to inspect and handle it. At the same time, this agency also works with accounts posting information that may affect the local tourism image.
According to functional agencies, after participating in the opening program of the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 on the evening of March 28, the crew and Juky San visited and took photos at some tourist spots, including Gieng Tien. The purpose was to preserve memories and promote the local image, but due to lack of information, an unexpected incident occurred.
