The 12th meeting of the Global Cities Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO) took place on September 3-6. Ho Chi Minh City is the first city in Vietnam to host the TPO General Assembly meeting program.
With the theme of Shaping the future of the tourism industry: Towards digital transformation and green transformation, the 12th TPO is an opportunity for cities around the world to discuss strategies, share experiences and propose creative solutions to develop sustainable tourism, apply digital technology and move towards environmentally friendly tourism models.
The highlights of TPO's main activities this year include a thematic conference focusing on new trends in the tourism industry, the role of digital transformation and green tourism in improving the tourist experience and enhancing the competitiveness of destinations; opportunities for connection and cooperation.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will organize cultural - artistic exchange programs and survey outstanding typical tourist destinations in the city.
In particular, this event will take place in parallel with ITE HCMC 2025 - the largest tourism fair in Vietnam.
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism shared that the 2025 TPO General Assembly is not only an international event, but also an important milestone in the series of diplomatic activities and friendly cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and cities around the world.
The unit is striving to organize the 12th TPO Congress in a professional and thoughtful manner, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of international friends about a friendly, hospitable city, rich in cultural identity and lively in each experience.
The 2025 TPO General Assembly is considered a great opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City, after the merger, to promote its unique image, culture and tourism potential to key international markets. At the same time, the event also affirmed the city's pioneering role in tourism promotion activities, in line with its position as a founding member and member of the TPO Executive Board.
TPO (Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities) was established in 2002 with the goal of becoming a center for promotion, information, and communication between tourist cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
To date, the TPO has 131 member cities and 56 members are tourism organizations/businesses.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the founding cities, and at the same time the only city in Vietnam to hold the role of Executive Committee Member, actively participating in TPO activities, effectively contributing to strengthening and expanding cooperation, exchanging learning experiences in tourism development between member cities.
