Not only possessing a vibrant pace of life and many unique cultural experiences, Ho Chi Minh City is becoming a more attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists thanks to continuously innovating tourism products, expanding the experience space and implementing stimulus programs towards improving quality.
We came to Ho Chi Minh City simply because this is a very attractive city" - Ms. Ying Yue, a tourist from China, shared during a trip with her family.
I see that Ho Chi Minh City has many programs and activities for tourists. Not only are there famous attractions, the city also continuously organizes events, festivals and introduces new experiences. That makes the trip more interesting and creates a feeling that there is always something to explore. I will definitely introduce Ho Chi Minh City to my friends when I return" - the female tourist said.
To bring more new experiences to tourists, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry has implemented a series of stimulus programs in the first half of 2026. Instead of focusing only on preferential and discount programs, the city has shifted its focus to improving product quality, increasing experiences and expanding tourism consumption space.
Along with that, many new products are put into operation, promotion, advertising, regional linkage and digital transformation activities are implemented synchronously, contributing to creating more attractiveness for the destination. Stimulus programs not only promote domestic tourism demand, support businesses to restore business operations but also gradually improve the competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City tourism in the new period.
Thanks to synchronous solutions, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry recorded many positive results in the first 6 months of 2026 with high growth rates of international visitors and total tourism revenue.
According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, along with continuing to promote the leading role of the national tourism industry, the city will expand the exploitation of new visitor markets. Besides traditional markets, Ho Chi Minh City will strengthen promotion and advertising in North America and Australia to diversify international visitor sources.
At the same time, the city will promote attracting foreign investment capital into the tourism sector. With more resources, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to improve infrastructure, mechanisms and development policies to create motivation for tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.
In the first 6 months of 2026, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed about 6,396,102 international visitors, reaching 58.1% of the annual plan. Domestic tourists are estimated to reach 27,315,000, completing 54.6% of the plan. Total revenue from tourism reached about 213,980 billion VND, equivalent to 64.8% of the full-year target.
