The weather in Ho Chi Minh City will turn cold due to the strengthening of cold air from the North.
According to the record on the morning of December 8, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City is generally 20-22 degrees Celsius, especially in the suburban and border areas of the Southeast region, it is still below 20 degrees Celsius, the feeling of cold increases due to the Northeast wind and humidity decreases. In the city center, at 7-8 am, the temperature was about 22 degrees Celsius but the actual feeling was 2-3 degrees Celsius lower.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said the main cause was the continental cold high pressure from China strengthening to the southern region and maintaining stable intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure is active; at the same time, the tropical depression will move from the central Philippines to the East Sea on December 8 and then gradually weaken.
In the next 3 to 10 days, the cold air will weaken at times but is forecast to strengthen again from around December 13, continuing to affect the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South.
The weather in Ho Chi Minh City will remain dry, with reduced humidity, some days will be cold at night and early morning, and sunny during the day.
According to monitoring data from the cold spell in November, the lowest temperature in Ho Chi Minh City was recorded at 19.4-22.2 degrees Celsius (Tan Son Nhat station down to 20 degrees Celsius). Some temperature points in the Southeast have dropped to 16.6-17.5 degrees Celsius.
