Recently, Saigon.PT Company Limited announced that it will temporarily suspend the 4-wheel electric vehicle service to transport tourists in Ho Chi Minh City from July 1, 2025. The reason is that new legal regulations and traffic infrastructure are not suitable for continued operation.
Accordingly, the temporary suspension of service operations stems from the requirement to comply with Decree 158 of the Government on technical and operational conditions for 4-wheeled motor vehicles.
In addition, the current transport infrastructure system in Ho Chi Minh City has not yet met the standards for this type of transport to continue to operate effectively and safely.
A major obstacle is the new regulation that only allows 4-wheeled electric vehicles to travel on routes with signs limiting the maximum speed to 30km/h.
Meanwhile, most of the roads in Ho Chi Minh City currently do not have signs for speeds below 40km/h, except for some specific areas such as under construction sections or overpasses.

The 4-wheel electric tourism service was first piloted from April 2024, with a fleet of about 70 cars and 8 seats.
The service operates from 6am to 7pm, serving in central districts such as Districts 1, 4, 5 and 6. Ticket prices range from 120,000 - 250,000 VND/30 minutes.
The 4-wheel electric vehicle service has accompanied many large-scale events in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Rivers Festival or the April 30 celebration, etc., contributing to promoting the image of the city in a green, clean and environmentally friendly direction. At the same time, the service helps promote the trend of sustainable transportation development and the transition to clean energy.
After more than a year of operation, the unit has carried out nearly 100,000 trips, serving nearly half a million visitors. The company did not record any accidents during its operations.
