The new urban area, resort tourism and sports service project in the Northwest with a total investment of more than 23,660 billion VND is being accelerated by investors to construct infrastructure items, opening the process of forming the largest urban area in the province.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at the new urban area, resort tourism and sports service project in the Northwest (Dien Bien Phu ward), the investor is implementing many items such as leveling the ground, constructing internal roads, building drainage systems and technical infrastructure.
The project is developed according to the "city in the heart of the city" model, with a scale of about 228ha, spreading across Dien Bien Phu ward and Thanh Nua commune. This is the largest urban project in Dien Bien province today.
The total investment capital of the project is more than 23,660 billion VND, with a population of about 12,000 people.
According to the plan, the project includes adjacent residential areas, villas, social housing, high-rise commercial - service buildings and an international standard golf course complex.
It is expected that the project will provide about 2,812 low-rise houses, including 1,836 townhouses and 975 villas.
For social housing, the project allocates more than 98,600m2 of land to build apartment blocks up to 8 floors high.
Notably, nearly 87ha of land is planned to develop an 18-hole golf course along with a golf course and golf practice ground, creating a highlight for the resort urban area.
According to the approved schedule, the project will be implemented in 54 months from the time of investor approval.
The period from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2028 focuses on building technical infrastructure, 18-hole golf courses, sports and commercial service works.
The period from the fourth quarter of 2028 to the fourth quarter of 2030 will complete the remaining architectural items.
Living near the project area, Mr. Hoang Van San (Dien Bien Phu ward) said: "They are clearing ground and building on rice fields a lot, currently they are seeing leveling, such a large project will probably take several years to complete".
According to Mr. San, the project also committed that when put into operation, it will prioritize using local labor, especially households affected by site clearance work.
Over the past time, Dien Bien has continuously attracted many large-scale projects in the fields of urban, tourism and services.
To date, in the field of golf courses alone, Dien Bien has approved investment in 2 18-hole golf course projects.
Besides the project being implemented in Dien Bien Phu ward, Muong Thanh Group Joint Stock Company has just won the bid for the Huoi Pha Urban, Commercial, Tourism, Service and Golf Course Area project.
The project has an area of 108.83ha, with a total investment of more than 1,757 billion VND. According to the approved objective, the project aims to form a synchronous and modern multi-functional complex, taking advantage of the natural terrain and lake surface to develop a new tourist and resort destination with a scale to serve more than 2,000 people.
Talking to PV, Director of Dien Bien Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hai Ha said that golf course projects will contribute to supplementing high-quality resort, sports and entertainment tourism products, targeting long-term accommodation groups with large spending levels, and creating more jobs for local workers.
