On the afternoon of November 29, at the press briefing on tourism promotion events in December 2024, Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center stated that in order to achieve the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry in 2024, the activities in December will be a boost, a total force to promote tourism. From there, economic growth will also contribute to promoting tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.
Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in coordination with relevant units organizes the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024 with the theme of Vibrant Festival Season. This event will highlight the image of Ho Chi Minh City as an attractive, modern and rich destination during the year-end festival season.
Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2024 will take place from December 5 to 12, including 80 complex activities, unique tourism, sports, music events... throughout the city. Attractive activities such as the launching ceremony of Tourism Week 2024 in front of Ben Thanh Market relic gate, the 7th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, Cho Lon Food Story festival in District 5, HOZO festival...
According to Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon has attracted more than 17,000 domestic and international athletes, continuing to affirm its position as the largest marathon event in Vietnam. The race also honors the dynamic spirit of Vietnam and encourages a healthy lifestyle.
This year, the city’s tourism industry will also apply AR (augmented reality) technology through a quiz game about culture, tourism, history and geography of Ho Chi Minh City. The game will be held at check-in points of Tourism Week in Thu Duc City and 21 districts.
In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry aims to welcome 6 million international visitors, 38 million domestic visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at VND190,000 billion.
