Recently, social networks have posted photos of female foreign tourists wearing bikis sitting behind motorbikes on a road in Du Gia commune (Tuyen Quang). The post quickly received mixed reviews from the online community.
The majority of opinions say that the way tourists dress is not suitable when appearing in public spaces. Especially in the highlands where there are many ethnic minorities, with unique cultural and traditional values.

Regarding this issue, in an interview with Lao Dong, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang said that the unit had grasped the incident.
"The Department has grasped the information and requested the Du Gia commune government to verify the information, remind tourists to follow the rules of civilized tourism behavior when traveling in the area.
The unit will also require travel companies to bring Khanh to Tuyen Quang to instruct tourists to follow the local tourism code of conduct," the leader added.
Also according to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang, the travel company has apologized to the public after the above incident.
Accordingly, the travel agency confirmed that tourists do not intend to wear bikini when traveling on the road. After bathing in Du Gia waterfall, because they did not bring a towel, visitors wore whole swimwear to return to their homestay about 2 km away.
The unit has recommended that staff remind visitors to wear reservations or scarves before leaving the swimming area.

Previously, in early August 2025, the image of foreign male tourists wearing traditional dresses of H'Mong women at tourist attractions in Ha Giang (old) also caused a stir on social networks.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang affirmed that this is an deviation from standards, damaging the cultural values of the community and going against the orientation of developing civilized and sustainable tourism that the province is implementing.
Tuyen Quang tourism industry has also stepped in to verify and review the roles and responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals to have a form of rectification and handling.
In September 2023, the image of a female tourist wearing a bikini dancing while taking a boat on the Nho Que River also caused many mixed opinions.
In 2018, Ha Giang province (old) issued a code of civilized behavior.
In particular, it refers to the content of requiring tourists to wear appropriate and polite clothes when traveling, especially at religious relics, places of worship, martyrs cemeteries, etc.
After the merger, Tuyen Quang province will inherit and continue to implement this set of rules.
