On December 18, at the Government headquarters, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to summarize 2024 and deploy the 2025 tasks of the culture, sports and tourism sector with the theme "Building an advanced culture with strong national identity - The driving force for development in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise".
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the Conference.
Reporting at the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung assessed that in 2024, the fields of culture, sports and tourism had many positive results and bright spots.
For the tourism industry, in 2024, the entire industry will focus on effectively implementing Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP and Directive No. 08/CT-Tg of the Prime Minister. Accordingly, tourism has recovered positively after the pandemic and has been assessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh as a bright spot in the country's socio-economic picture.
According to the Minister, in addition to 5 groups of branded tourism products, many new tourism products have been developed and put into service for tourists such as: Hue - Da Nang Heritage Train; Nam Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road - A Place to Return to the Origin... Vietnam hosted the first International Conference on Rural Tourism.
International tourists to Vietnam reached the set target of 17-18 million, domestic tourists were estimated at 110 million. Total revenue from tourists was estimated at about 840 trillion VND, up 23.8%.
Proposing tasks set for the tourism industry in 2025, Minister Nguyen Van Hung requested the implementation of the Vietnam Tourism System Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045.
Develop and implement communication and tourism promotion programs and campaigns in key source markets of Vietnam tourism.
Vietnam strives to welcome and serve 22-23 million international visitors and 120-130 million domestic visitors by 2025. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 980-1,050 trillion VND.
