On the morning of January 1st, at Vinh Long Passenger Port, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of the Tourism Promotion Space with the theme "Vinh Long Tourism towards a green and sustainable future".
The event marks the beginning of a series of activities celebrating the Party and celebrating Binh Ngo Spring 2026, and also marks a milestone when Vinh Long welcomes the first group of 40 international tourists from France to set off for tourism at the beginning of the year.
The promotion space was organized at the passenger port (Pham Hung street, Long Chau ward) with the participation of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Tourism Association and the Provincial Tourism Ambassador.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung - Deputy Director of Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said that in 2025, the locality welcomed nearly 9.5 million visitors, an increase of 13.4% compared to the same period. In which, international visitors reached nearly 1.5 million, an increase of more than 71%, total tourism revenue is estimated at nearly 8,000 billion VND.
The highlight of the opening ceremony is the ceremony to welcome the first international delegation in 2026. Provincial leaders directly presented flowers and souvenirs, expressing respect and the image of Vinh Long being friendly and hospitable.
According to the provincial tourism industry, the message "green future" is concretized by orienting tourism development associated with heritage preservation, environmental protection and improving livelihoods for people.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee performed the tree planting ceremony as a meaningful opening message, expressing the commitment to protect the land, protect the country, and preserve the flavor of the homeland for future generations.

Immediately after the opening, delegates and tourists visited 16 booths displaying OCOP products and local specialties. The space "Old Kitchen" recreates traditional Southern life, attracting a large number of visitors to experience.
For 3 days (January 1st - 3rd), the program features many unique cultural activities such as Don ca tai tu, Hat boi, Khmer dance, traditional craft performances and introduction of the unique cuisine of the Cu Lao region.
The event is expected to create a spreading effect, contributing to promoting Vinh Long's image and opening a new tourism year with many positive signs.
