According to Chinese media, the penthouse apartment of late actress Tu Hy Vien in Tin Nghia area, Taipei (China) has completed inheritance registration procedures.
The real estate is said to be worth about 460 million Taiwanese dollars (about 407 billion VND), currently owned by three legal heirs including her husband Koo Jun Yup and two stepchildren of the actress, each holding one-third of the ownership.
Because Tu Hy Vien's two children are not yet adults, the assets of the children will be managed by their biological father, Uong Tieu Phi, as a legal representative until they grow up.
This villa was bought by Barbie Hsu in 2016 for about 362 million Taiwanese dollars (about 320 billion VND). According to local media, the actress paid about 140 million Taiwanese dollars (about 124 billion VND) in deposits, and the remaining 222 million Taiwanese dollars (about 196 billion VND) was borrowed from the bank. After many years, the value of real estate has increased by nearly 100 million Taiwanese dollars (about 88 billion VND).
Completing the transfer procedures is also considered to mean that the obligations related to inheritance tax have basically been resolved.
Previously, after Tu Hy Vien passed away in early 2025, the issue of inheritance division once became the focus of media attention. According to Taiwanese (China) inheritance regulations, the first heir includes the wife or husband and children of the deceased. Therefore, Koo Jun Yup and his two children are the legal beneficiaries of the inheritance.
Notably, when Barbie Hsu just passed away, Koo Jun Yup once expressed his desire to give up inheritance rights. However, there was no legal procedure confirming the refusal to receive the inheritance and the final result still recorded him as one of the three co-heirs according to regulations.
Meanwhile, Barbie Hsu's mother is not in the first line of inheritance, so she does not have the right to directly receive this property, despite repeatedly sharing with the media about the difficulties after her daughter passed away.
The new developments also sparked many debates on social networks, especially surrounding the role of Wang Xiaofei. As a biological father and legal representative of his two minor children, this businessman will manage the assets owned by his children until they reach legal age. This does not mean that Wang Xiaofei is the owner of the above-mentioned inheritance.
According to Chinese media, Wang Xiaofei continues to fulfill financial obligations related to the villa as well as ensure the rights of his two children.
