In recent days, debates related to the crown of the Miss Business Global 2023 contest continue to attract attention. Nguyen Thi Thao - stage name Nguyen Thi Dieu Van, who once won the contest - said that the stones and diamonds on the crown were not real diamonds when she took them for examination.
Until now, public interest in the matter has not cooled down.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper on July 27, Dieu Van said that she had brought the crown to many gold, silver, and gemstone business establishments for inspection. However, according to the beauty, many establishments informed her that this was fake.
There are a few places that accept inspection, examination and tell me that it is fake," Dieu Van said.
The beauty queen affirmed that she is ready to continue to take the items for inspection if legal disputes occur.
Before the question about the risk of being sued when raising suspicions related to the crown, Dieu Van said: "If they sue, I will take the crown for further inspection. Currently, I still keep and preserve the crown".
Dieu Van explained that this is the reason she did not agree to return the item after her title was revoked. According to the beauty, she may not keep the Miss title but needs to keep the crown as a basis to protect her statements.
The crown is evidence to prove what I said. When the authorities intervene, I will provide it. In the current situation, I cannot hand it over because there will be no more evidence later. I don't need the Miss title, I can return it, but I don't need the crown," she shared with Lao Dong.
According to Dieu Van, the event of title revocation affected her life and work. She went through a period of prolonged stress and took about a year to gradually stabilize her spirit.
I feel that the incident has a lot affected my family and work. In fact, initially I participated in the contest because I was helped, I myself did not have the need to become a beauty queen. After what happened, I have even less intention of participating in beauty contests again," she said.
Responding to the story of Dieu Van accusing the crown of being fake, the contest organizers said that the valuation of 3 billion VND does not mean that the crown is made entirely of real gold or diamonds. The announced value may include design, idea, craftsmanship, skills and symbolic elements.
The organizers also affirmed that they have never declared that the crown is studded with diamonds or made entirely of real gold. According to this unit, the cost of supporting sponsors to craft three crowns in 2023 is about 200 million VND.
Regarding the revocation of the Miss Business Global 2023 title, according to the reason from the organizers, Dieu Van did not fulfill her responsibilities and lacked cooperation.
